Pain caused by osteoporosis can be treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), drugs that inhibit osteoclasts, and interventions for osteoporosis such as calcium supplements.
1. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): For pain caused by osteoporosis, NSAIDs can be taken orally, which have good anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, such as celecoxib capsule, diclofenac sodium delayed-release tablets, lorsoprofen sodium tablets, etoricoxib tablets and so on.
2. Drugs that inhibit osteoclasts: When osteoporosis causes pain, drugs that inhibit bone resorption can also be used, such as alendronate tablets, etoricoxib injection and so on. Alendronate sodium tablets can effectively inhibit osteoclast activity and reduce bone conversion. Eldercalcitonin injection can inhibit the biological activity of osteoclasts, which can significantly relieve chronic pain caused by osteoporotic fracture.
3. Calcium: Oral calcium citrate tablets, calcium carbonate tablets, calcium lactate tablets, etc. are recommended. Meanwhile, oral vitamin D drops should also be taken to promote calcium absorption. Adequate calcium intake can obtain ideal peak bone mass and slow down bone loss, which can maintain the health of bones.
When pain caused by osteoporosis occurs, it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in a timely manner and follow the doctor’s instructions to use medication, not unauthorized use of medication in order to avoid delays in the condition.
