Effects and Indications of Croton

Croton is used externally to etch sores (etching rotting flesh, healing sores and poisons). The main treatment for scabies, warts and moles. Croton is the dried mature fruit of the plant Croton, family Euphorbiaceae. Its concocted product Croton Cream can be used to treat ascites, constipation caused by cold accumulation (cold gathering in the body), stagnation of milk and food, scabies, throat wind, warts and moles and carbuncles that have been suppurated but have not broken through, and so on. Croton is hot and pungent in nature; it is highly toxic, and belongs to the stomach and large intestine meridians. Apply externally, grind it and apply it to the affected area, or pound it and rub it with gauze. It should be noted that pregnant women are prohibited; should not be used with petunia seeds. Croton may cause diarrhea, jaundice, hot and painful mouth and throat and other adverse reactions.
