The urine of diabetic patients with smooth and standard blood sugar control is the same as that of normal people. The color of urine of diabetic patients is slightly yellow, which is not much different from the color of urine of normal people. When blood sugar is not well controlled, diabetic patients will experience a significant increase in the frequency and volume of urine, followed by more water intake and dilution of other components in the urine. In this case, the urine is lighter and clearer in color compared to normal people, even like plain water. Because urine contains more glucose, there may be a relatively slight feeling of mucus, and urine will feel like sticky shoes when it falls on the floor. If the patient is combined with diabetic nephropathy, elevated urine protein may appear more foamy. When a diabetic patient develops a urinary tract infection, cloudiness, foam, and an offensive odor may appear in the urine.
