There are two possible reasons for having a feeling of stool at the anal opening. The first condition is that the stool has not been emptied and the residual stool has accumulated at the anal opening and caused frequent bowel movements. In the second case, the stool has been emptied, but there is a prolapse in the rectal mucosa. The loose rectal mucosa accumulates in the lower part of the rectum or in the anal canal, causing a pronounced bowel movement. In the first case, laxative treatment is required, and oral laxative medications, such as marijuana pills, Sophora pills, and lactulose oral solution, can be taken. By taking oral laxative medications, the stool may pass more cleanly, and the feeling of having a bowel movement may be improved. In the second case, a fecal imaging is needed to clarify the diagnosis. If there is indeed a prolapse of the rectal mucosa, the loosened rectal mucosa needs to be removed surgically, and the feeling of bowel movement will be significantly improved.
