How long does it take to recover from a broken left hand?

Usually, a finger fracture can gradually return to function in about 2 months with effective treatment. The time for fracture healing is related to the fracture site, severity, patient’s age and other factors. If the finger fracture is not significantly displaced, it can be treated with fracture repositioning and external fixation in plaster. Patients with finger fractures with displaced fracture ends need to be fixed with a kerf pin or internal fixation with a microplate. Usually the fracture will heal completely in about 2 months after surgery and the patient can participate in normal work. In children, the healing time of finger bone fractures is shorter. In patients with combined local soft tissue infections, significantly displaced fractures, or combined diseases such as anemia, osteoporosis, and hypoproteinemia, the healing time of fractures is significantly longer. Finger fractures should be reviewed regularly at the hospital, and the external fixation should be removed for early functional finger joint exercises after the formation of bone scabs to prevent finger joint stiffness.
