Clinical healing after bone grafting generally takes 2-3 months to achieve. The recovery after bone grafting is similar to the stages of normal fracture healing, requiring a period of hematoma formation and mechanization, primary bone scab formation, and bone plate contouring. After a series of repair stages, x-ray examination can be performed to determine the recovery of the bone graft site. If clinical healing has been achieved, the cast and brace can be removed and the patient can walk on the ground. However, it still takes six months to one year to achieve complete bony fusion and anatomical healing, and strenuous exercise is not allowed during this period to avoid secondary injury. Bone grafting is mostly used for bone discontinuity, bone tumor, osteomyelitis, etc. Through active treatment, the disease will be improved accordingly. It is recommended that patients should strictly follow the medical advice after bone grafting, pay attention to rest, supplement sufficient nutrition and avoid spicy and stimulating food.
