I’ve had rhinoplasty for 7 years, what are the effects of not replacing the implant?

The face is like a flower, all depends on the nose. Many seekers want to have a nose job, there are worries in their hearts, worried that after doing some “side effects”; and after doing a nose job, may be the same as this seeker, concerned about “doing a nose job a few years later, what will be the impact of not replacing the prosthesis?” Here are three aspects to answer the questions of the candidates about “nose job”, I hope it will help you. 1.How long can the prosthesis support? At present, there are two kinds of common rhinoplasty prosthesis: silicone and tumescent, which are materials certified by CFDA. Theoretically, after the test of time, it will not react with the human body, so it can generally be maintained permanently. Many candidates remove the prosthesis after 10 years, regardless of shape, texture and color, only a small portion of the surface of the prosthesis has calcium deposits. Excluding cases of dissatisfaction with the results and shape, as long as there are no symptoms of redness, swelling, pain or other discomfort, they can be placed for life. In general, if you choose a qualified prosthesis, the doctor’s skills are reliable, and if there is no rejection or other complications, the rhinoplasty prosthesis can be preserved forever. 2.Does it need to be replaced regularly? ”Silicone implants are best replaced every 5~15 years”, is this alarmist or a fact? The reason why some people suggest that silicone implants should be replaced regularly is because silicone may age and calcify in the human body for a long time. Although there is no effect on the human body, but it will affect the touch of the nose (calcified prosthesis will be hard), if the candidate does not mind, then no need to replace. What about expanded prosthesis? Initially used for heart bypass surgery, and human tissue compatibility is extremely high, unless the case of infection, it can be placed in the body for life. 3, years later will shift or deformation? This will not happen, depending on the level of skill of the surgeon and the prosthetic material used. For example, the “L-shaped silicone prosthesis”, which was eliminated from the market, will indeed change the shape of the nose a few years after the surgery – the nose becomes shorter and shorter, and the nose will appear in the form of a skyward nose. (Figure below) Why does this happen? After the L-shaped silicone implant is implanted in the nose, the tip of the nose is connected to the dorsum of the nose. Over a long period of time, those implants that are not made of good material will gradually become harder or softer, and the fixation between them and the nose will not be as strong, so they may shift or collapse. In addition, the contracture of the envelope will cause the silicone prosthesis to be squeezed and shortened, and the shape of the L-shaped prosthesis is connected to the nasal bridge part and the tip part, then the prosthesis is squeezed by the envelope will not only shorten the nose, and also the tip of the nose will be upturned into a skyward nose. But now most doctors are using willow-shaped prosthesis, this situation rarely happens. Of course, if the doctor’s carving of rhinoplasty materials is not fine, the angle is not correct, the prosthesis is slightly tilted, after decades of slow “moving”, there may also be the phenomenon of displacement.
