It can be used to treat fever and thirst, thirst, lung heat cough, hemoptysis, vomiting blood, constipation and other diseases.
Pepper is pungent in taste, warm in nature, belonging to the spleen, stomach and kidney meridians, and has the effect of warming the middle and relieving pain (relieving pain by warming the spleen and stomach), killing insects and relieving itching. It can treat cold pain in the epigastrium (cold pain in the stomach and abdomen), poor appetite, vomiting, abdominal pain, and cold hands and feet due to deficiency and coldness in the middle jiao; externally, it can dry dampness, stop itching and kill insects.
The efficacy of the above two drugs alone is limited, and it is recommended that they be combined with other drugs to form a formula. If the patient’s cough is caused by wind-cold attacking the lungs, add or subtract San’ao Tang with Cough Stopper; if the cough is caused by wind-heat attacking the lungs, add or subtract Sang Ju Drink; if the cough is caused by phlegm-heat depressing the lungs, add or subtract Qing Jin Huo Phlegm Tang. The adverse effects of the above prescriptions are not clear.
