The itchy ear seems to have worms crawling in it. There are several common causes: 1. Itching caused by the secretion of cerumen in the external ear canal gland in the form of flakes or debris, which irritates the wall of the external ear canal. 2. Itching in the external ear canal caused by neurodermatitis, and the external ear canal is clean when examined. 3. Itchy ears caused by eczema in the external auditory canal, with flaking, cracked skin and yellow water in severe cases, are treated with hormonal ointments, such as Parisone or Eloson, which are applied topically with obvious results. 4. Itchy ears caused by otitis externa or otitis media with pus flow, are treated with active application of antibiotic ear drops and intravenous antibiotic infusion.
