It is common to see a clicking sound when the patient turns the shoulder. This phenomenon occurs when the patient moves the shoulder joint, causing friction between the joint capsule, synovial membrane, tendons and other tissues in the shoulder joint, resulting in a popping sound. If the patient does not have any other uncomfortable symptoms, no special treatment is needed and the patient should be monitored regularly. If a patient has a snapping shoulder joint with pain and other symptoms, symptomatic treatment should be given. Forbid the patient to move the shoulder joint, apply ointment to the shoulder joint to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, or apply hot compresses and fumigation with Chinese herbs; or encourage the patient to exercise the muscle strength of the shoulder joint to increase the stability of the shoulder joint.
