What are the adverse effects of nevirapine

Adverse reactions to nevirapine generally include hepatic impairment, skin reactions and systemic symptoms. 1. Hepatic impairment: severe hepatotoxicity, such as cholestatic hepatitis and hepatic necrosis, has been observed in patients treated with nevirapine. 2. Skin reactions: severe skin reactions have been observed in patients treated with nevirapine, manifested as generalized rash with itching symptoms on the face or various parts of the body. 3. Systemic symptoms: some patients may be accompanied by systemic symptoms, such as fever, edema, blisters, oral damage, diarrhea, vomiting, muscle and joint pain, conjunctivitis and so on. For patients with rashes accompanied by systemic symptoms of hypersensitivity reactions, the drug must be permanently discontinued. Patients are advised to take Nevirapine under the supervision of a doctor, and to seek medical attention promptly if symptoms of discomfort occur.
