The child’s fever, vomiting and stomach discomfort may be caused by acute gastroenteritis, gastrointestinal colds, etc. Symptomatic treatment (such as reducing fever, fasting and water fasting, stopping diarrhea) and symptomatic treatment (antiviral drugs, antibiotics) can be given.
1. Symptomatic treatment:
(1) Anti-fever: if the temperature is below 38.5 degrees, the child can be wiped with lukewarm water all over the body, and ice cubes can be placed in the armpits and groin to lower the temperature physically; if the temperature is more than 38.5 degrees, ibuprofen can be taken to lower the fever.
(2) Fasting and water confinement: if the vomiting is severe, temporary fasting and water confinement can be used to decompress the gastrointestinal tract and replenish fluids through intravenous infusion.
(3) Antidiarrhea: If accompanied by diarrhea, montelukast can be given to stop diarrhea.
2. Treatment of the cause:
(1) Antiviral drugs: If caused by infection such as adenovirus, antiviral treatment such as interferon can be given.
(2) Antibiotics: If the bacterial infection is caused, antibiotics such as cefixime and cefaclor can be given to fight infection.
Children with fever, vomiting and stomach discomfort are advised to seek timely medical treatment under the guidance of a physician. The above medications need to be used in accordance with medical advice.
