A burning sensation from the throat to the chest is mainly seen clinically in the following diseases. The first one, reflux pharyngitis, most of such patients suffer from reflux gastritis, reflux esophagitis induced by the reflux of gastric acid and other gastric juices into the throat, damaging the mucous membrane of the throat and causing discomfort in the throat such as dry throat, foreign body sensation in the throat, and burning sensation in the throat. This discomfort can occur in the area from the pharynx to the esophagus. Clinical treatment such as acid suppression is given. Patients are advised to eat a light diet with less greasy and other undigestible foods. The second type of discomfort is the discomfort in the heart area that radiates to the esophagus and throat area when the patient has acute coronary syndrome, acute myocardial ischemia, acute heart attack, etc. Clinically, this condition is not very common and can be detected by checking the electrocardiogram and myocardial enzyme profile.
