The fastest way to quit smoking

There is no such thing as “the fastest way to quit smoking”. Quitting smoking can be assisted by positive self-suggestion, step-down therapy, and medication. 1. Positive self-suggestion: First of all, you should understand the harmful effects of smoking and your own need to quit, such as smoking is a risk factor for diabetes and cardiovascular diseases; then you should tell yourself that you are able to quit; and you should develop hobbies and interests, and make friends and devote yourself to your work, all of which can help you quit. 2. Step-down treatment: You can make a plan to quit smoking and reach it gradually, step by step; at the same time, when you want to smoke, you can replace it with other foods you like to eat, such as candies, nuts and so on. 3. Medication: The two medications currently available in China for smoking cessation are bupropion and varenicline, which can be used under the guidance of a doctor. Quitting smoking is a long-term process, so be sure to build confidence, take positive action, and seek medical help if necessary.
