The level of androgens is usually determined by a blood test.
Androgen test should be fasting blood test, usually divided into serum testosterone and serum free testosterone. The normal range of testosterone is 14~25.4nmol/L for men and 1.3~2.8nmol/L for women; free testosterone is 276pmol/L for men and 11pmol/L for women, but the results will be slightly different with different instruments, and it is recommended to refer to the local hospital.
If the patient’s androgens are high, men will have symptoms such as hairiness, hypersexuality and short temper, and women will have symptoms such as acne and menstrual disorders. If androgens are low, men may have symptoms such as low libido and sperm abnormalities, and women may have symptoms such as insomnia, sweating, and osteoporosis.
It is recommended that patients with abnormal androgen results go to a regular hospital in time.
