Generally speaking, jade bamboo can be used to make soup with Poria, but it is necessary to pay attention to the contraindications of their respective medicines.
It can be used in the lung and stomach meridians, and is slightly cold in nature. It is good at generating fluids to quench thirst, moistening dryness and nourishing yin, and is mainly used for treating dryness and heatiness in the lungs and stomach, gastric yin insufficiency (insufficient yin fluid in the stomach), and yin deficiency and labor coughs. Yuzhu is forbidden to be given to those with phlegm-dampness-qi stagnation.
Poria can be attributed to the heart, lung, spleen and kidney meridians. It is relatively flat in nature and is good at strengthening the spleen and tranquilizing the heart, inducing drainage and seepage of dampness (promoting the movement of water to dispel dampness), and is used for treating weakness of the spleen and stomach, internal retention of water-dampness (water-dampness stays inside the body), and deficiency of yin to urinate (unsmooth urination). Poria is used with caution in those with Qi deficiency and subsidence. As there is no contraindication to pairing these two herbs, they can be used together to make soup.
The adverse effects of Jade Bamboo and Poria are not known. Making soup together is suitable for people with deficiency of spleen and stomach yin and internal heat. The active ingredients in Chinese herbal medicines in soup are limited in precipitation, and may not be as effective as the herbs in actual efficacy, failing to achieve the therapeutic effect. If the patient is not feeling well, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time. If the patient needs to improve his condition, he needs to use the correct medication under the guidance of a professional Chinese medicine practitioner.
