Can a tooth with only a root be restored?

Only the root of the tooth can be restored, the available restorations are pile core crown and overdenture, as follows.
1. Pile core crown: It is a kind of full crown restoration that utilizes the pile inserted into the root canal to obtain retention, and the crown on it can be selected from porcelain crowns, metal porcelain crowns, and metal crowns according to different tooth positions and different requirements. It should be noted that, the core crown has certain requirements on the length of the root of the tooth, after crown lengthening or orthodontic traction surgery need to be able to expose the root surface below the section of at least 1.5mm.
2. Overdenture: It is a kind of full denture or partial removable denture with the denture base covering the roots, which is suitable for those with few remaining teeth and poor periodontal conditions of the remaining teeth. Crown lengthening of the remaining roots is also required, and is not eligible for those whose sections are flush gingival or located subgingivally.
For the same disease, the patient’s condition is different, the choice of treatment is different, it is recommended to visit the hospital.
