How to treat pulmonary venous malformation

Pulmonary venous malformations are congenital malformations that can lead to thrombosis in severe cases, thus affecting cardiopulmonary function and manifesting as shortness of breath, dyspnea, and cyanosis. Pulmonary venous malformation can be treated by surgery, embolization, drug-assisted treatment.
1. Surgery: Surgical resection can be used for pulmonary venous malformation, firstly, the most concentrated lobe is resected, and then other small foci are partially resected. Because of the rich collateral circulation and the risk of arterial embolism, the proximal vessels must be controlled first to avoid hemorrhage.
2. Embolization: Diffuse pulmonary arteriovenous malformation can be treated with interventional catheter embolization, which can preserve the normal lung tissue and its function to the maximum extent. Firstly, choose the heavy part for embolization, and use spring embolus to embolize the treatment until the satisfactory embolization effect is achieved.
3. Drug therapy: drug therapy is usually used as an adjunct to surgical treatment and embolization. Prevent nasal bleeding and gastrointestinal bleeding, such as furosemide tablets. Embolization treatment with antibiotics is effective in preventing cerebral embolism.
Patients with pulmonary venous malformations should go to the thoracic surgery department to see a specialized doctor for standardized diagnosis and treatment, and also need regular follow-up after treatment.
