Heart valve surgery is performed in the cardiac surgery department, and the patient and family should be fully informed, evaluated and examined before the surgery. Heart valve surgery usually requires general anesthesia and extracorporeal circulation, and therefore should be performed in either cardiothoracic or cardiac surgery. Heart valve surgery can include valvuloplasty, valve replacement, and minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of stenosis and insufficient valve closure. Prior to surgery, the patient should undergo a physical examination, blood, urine, and stool routines, as well as a chest CT, cardiac ultrasound, and electrocardiogram, and the patient and his or her family should be informed of the risks involved in the surgery and of the postoperative medication regimen. Heart valve surgery involves certain risks. If you need to undergo valve surgery, please fully communicate with your surgeon to understand the risks and benefits of the surgery, and follow the doctor’s instructions to take regular medication and have regular checkups after the surgery.
