There is an incubation period following novel coronavirus infection. The incubation period is usually 2-14 days, and it is not possible to specify the duration of fever after infection, so prompt screening is needed. Infected persons tend to have ups and downs in fever within 14 days if they are in contact with a suspected patient or have traveled to an infected area. It is not an initial high fever, and the temperature may rise gradually or fluctuate repeatedly. If this occurs, further observation is required. If the fever is >37.3°C, screening at a fever clinic is recommended. If the first screening test is negative and the fever returns after the temperature decreases, screening is still needed. Some patients show a presenting positive reaction only after several tests. The criteria for screening in the fever clinic is a temperature of >37.3°C. If there is a recurrence of the temperature, screening is still required, and the absence of infection cannot be determined by a single negative test. Source: Dr. Yurai
