Lymph nodes 1.2 cm are not necessarily cancerous.
Lymph nodes are an important part of the lymphatic system, responsible for the body’s immune function, and they are widely distributed in all parts of the body. The diameter of positive lymph nodes is usually within 0.5 centimeters.
The main causes of enlarged lymph nodes are lymph node inflammation, connective tissue disease and malignant tumors, i.e. cancer. Overall, inflammation, connective tissue disease and malignancy can all lead to lymph nodes 1.2 cm, but lymph nodes caused by malignancy are less likely.
Tumors can present with enlarged lymph nodes through lymphatic metastasis, such as thyroid, breast, esophageal, renal, bone, gastric, intestinal, liver, and lung cancers. Diseases originating from lymph nodes, such as lymphoma, acute and chronic lymphoblastic leukemia, etc., may also appear.
If the lymph nodes are enlarged to 1.2 centimeters, there is no need to panic, but at the same time, we should not take it lightly and should find out the cause of the enlarged lymph nodes in time.
