Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria cocos and Angelica dahurica combined have the effect of tonifying the qi and strengthening the spleen, dispelling wind and relieving pain. Drinking water with limited active ingredients, generally do not reach the therapeutic effect.
1. Angelica dahurica: pungent, warm. Angelica dahurica has the effect of relieving cold (removing cold from the surface of the muscle), dispelling wind and relieving pain, clearing the nose and orifices, drying dampness and stopping leucorrhea (removing dampness by drying dampness and improving leucorrhea abnormality), and subduing swellings and draining pus.
It is used in treating colds and headaches caused by wind-cold bundling the surface, pain in the eyebrow bone, nasal congestion and runny nose, nasal abyss (mainly manifested as obscene nasal mucus, the amount of which cannot be wiped away), toothache, and leucorrhoea, etc. It is also used in treating the pain in the nose and throat caused by cold. This product is pungent, warm and dry, yin deficiency and blood-heat should not be served.
2. Atractylodes macrocephala: bitter, sweet, warm. Atractylodes macrocephala has the effect of tonifying qi and strengthening spleen, drying dampness and inducing diuresis, stopping sweating and stabilizing the fetus. It can be used in treating poor diet, abdominal distension and diarrhea caused by spleen deficiency, phlegm-drinking and palpitation (caused by phlegm-drinking and evil qi), edema, spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating with a little movement), and restlessness of fetus, etc. It is warm and dry in nature.
The nature of this product is warm and dry, such as yin deficiency and internal heat or fluid loss resulting in dryness, thirst and constipation, should not be used.
3. Poria cocos: sweet, light, flat. It has the effect of inducing diuresis and seepage of dampness (promoting the operation of water to dispel dampness), strengthening the spleen, and tranquilizing the mind. It is used for various kinds of edema, diarrhea, phlegm (pathological products formed by water metabolism disorders), poor appetite, etc. caused by spleen deficiency and dampness, and palpitation and insomnia caused by deficiency of the heart and spleen. It is contraindicated for those with deficiency of cold essence and slippery, and those with deficiency of yin without water-dampness.
The adverse reactions of the above drugs are not clear. Patients are advised to consult the doctor in time if they feel unwell, and should not take the medicine by themselves to avoid delaying the condition.
