The duration of treatment for HPV (human papillomavirus) 31 positivity is closely related to an individual’s physical condition, and can take six months to a year to become negative or to become a lifelong carrier.
HPV31 infection is self-limiting, and in most cases, it can be reversed on its own in six months to a year and does not require special treatment. For some people, medical interventions (such as taking immunomodulatory drugs like thymopeptide and transfer factor) are needed to enhance immunity, which can also lead to conversion in half a year to one year. Only a very small number of immunocompromised people will carry HPV31 for a long time or even for life.
Therefore, most of the HPV31 infections can be cured on their own, so there is no need to be too anxious. However, since HPV31 is a high-risk type, long-term repeated infections can lead to cervical cancer, it is recommended to follow the doctor’s instructions for cervical screening and regular review when HPV31 is positive.
