Why cervical spondylosis causes numbness in the little finger

Numbness of the little finger due to cervical spondylosis indicates that the type of cervical spondylosis is nerve root cervical spondylosis. The reason why it leads to numbness of the little finger is mainly due to the herniated cervical disc or hyperplastic bone pressing on the nerve root, which triggers numbness of the little finger. The little finger is innervated by the ulnar nerve, and when the ulnar nerve is irritated or damaged, it can cause numbness in the little finger. The ulnar nerve is composed of the 7th cervical nerve root, the 8th cervical nerve root and the 1st thoracic nerve root. So when a cervical disc herniates in the lower neck, it can irritate 1-2 of these 3 nerves, ultimately leading to numbness in the little finger.
