How to tell if a follicle is expelling or shrinking

A vaginal ultrasound can be used to determine whether a follicle has been expelled or has shrunk.
When a follicle matures and expels an egg, it produces follicular fluid, which stays in the uterus or rectal recess, and a small amount of fluid in the pelvis can be detected by ultrasound. If the vaginal ultrasound does not find fluid in the pelvis, but instead finds atrophied follicles or follicles that do not grow. So vaginal ultrasound can make a clear distinction.
Follicular atrophy can be diagnosed when the follicles become smaller and smaller during continuous ultrasound monitoring and no pelvic fluid is present. Follicular atrophy is a gynecologic condition that can cause infertility.
If follicular atrophy is suspected to cause infertility, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment.
