What happens when the uterus contracts too strongly?

Pregnant women who experience uterine hypercontractions are prone to uterine rupture or lead to placental abruption, resulting in serious consequences for the fetus, and for the life of the pregnant woman. If uterine contractions are too strong in the non-pregnant state, it will produce pain in the lower abdomen, especially during menstruation, which may lead to severe menstrual cramps. If the uterus contracts too strongly after labor, there may be cervical damage, rupture of the cervix, placental abruption, and may also lead to amniotic fluid embolism. If the contractions are caused by medication, it is recommended that the medication be discontinued and clinical observation be given.
