Difference between galangal and dried ginger

Both galangal and dried ginger belong to the warm medicine, but the two medicinal parts, efficacy and main treatment are different. Galangal is the rhizome of Galangal, family Zingiberaceae. It is pungent and hot in nature, belonging to the spleen and stomach meridian, with the effect of warming the stomach and stopping vomiting, dispersing cold and relieving pain (relieving pain by removing the cold in the body), used for cold pain in the epigastrium (cold pain in the stomach and abdomen), cold stomach and vomiting, belching (hiccups), and acid swallowing (swallowing acid in the stomach that rushes up to the oropharynx). Dry ginger is the rhizome of ginger, family Zingiberaceae. It is pungent in taste, hot in nature, and belongs to the spleen, stomach, kidney, heart and lung meridians. It has the efficacy of warming the middle and dispersing the cold (dispersing the cold by warming the spleen and stomach), returning Yang to the veins, warming the lungs and transforming the drinks (facilitating the operation of the stagnant fluid by warming the lungs), and is used for the treatment of cold pain in the epigastrium and abdomen, vomiting and leaking and diarrhea, cold limbs and pulse, and cold drinks and wheezing and coughing. Adverse effects and contraindications of galangal and dried ginger are not known. If there is a need for medication, it is recommended that it be used under the guidance of a professional physician, not blindly self-medication.
