What does human herpesvirus type 5 cause?

Human herpesvirus type 5 is cytomegalovirus, which causes a wide variety of diseases, commonly including congenital malformations caused by intrauterine infections, liver infections after acquired infections, respiratory infections, manifested as hepatosplenomegaly, persistent jaundice, bronchitis, interstitial pneumonia and so on.
