What to do if irregular menstruation causes slow development of pregnancy sacs

Irregular menstruation does not usually cause slow development of the gestational sac, and ultrasound, blood human chorionic gonadotropin and progesterone tests should be performed to rule out late conception and embryonic arrest.
Irregular menstruation, especially long menstrual cycles often lead to late conception, the gestational sac is smaller than the number of days after menopause, should be identified with the slow development of the gestational sac.
Slow development of the gestational sac generally refers to the growth rate of the gestational sac <0.6mm per day, mostly due to pre-miscarriage, luteal insufficiency, physical and chemical stimuli, viral infections, and the embryo's own developmental anomalies. If the etiology is unknown, progesterone can be used to preserve the pregnancy for 3 to 5 days, and then repeat the ultrasound, blood human chorionic gonadotropin and progesterone to understand the changes in the condition. If the menstrual cycle is irregular or the last menstrual period is ominous, it is recommended to have the obstetrician to verify the last menstrual period. If the diagnosis is that the gestational sac is developing slowly and the request for fertility preservation is strong, it is recommended to have fertility preservation treatment under the guidance of the obstetrician.
