Can an ectopic pregnancy be detected with a pregnancy test?

An ectopic pregnancy cannot be detected with a pregnancy test, which can find out if the patient is pregnant. If the pregnancy test is a bar, further blood tests are needed to check the blood HCG level. If the blood HCG level does not rise, it means that the patient is not pregnant; if the blood HCG level rises, it means that the patient is pregnant, and if the pregnancy test is two bars, it means that the patient is pregnant. In cases where the blood HCG level rises or the pregnancy test has two bars, it is necessary to further clarify whether the pregnancy is intrauterine or ectopic in combination with a gynecological ultrasound. If a gynecological ultrasound reveals a gestational sac in the uterine cavity, the patient has an early intrauterine pregnancy; if the gynecological ultrasound does not reveal a gestational sac in the uterus, but a suspicious pregnancy mass is found outside the uterine cavity, it indicates an ectopic pregnancy.
