Is fear of interacting with people a psychological problem?

Fear of interacting with people refers to the social aspect. If there are phenomena such as not daring to go to a crowded place, blushing at the sight of strangers and then not daring to look at them, it is usually medically known as prosopagnosia or social anxiety disorder. In a similar case, a college student reported that he was afraid to go to a large class and to communicate with strangers because he felt extremely fearful, panicked and scared when he looked at strangers. As a result, the patient’s typical behavior is avoidance, and he tries to take time off from school as much as possible to avoid attending large classes, thus interfering with school and making the patient feel very distressed. When the patient’s social functioning is affected for a period of time, the patient must be suffering from social anxiety disorder, which is a psychological disorder. If this occurs, the patient should see a psychologist to help him or her get out of the situation.
