Do whiteheads go away on their own?

Whiteheads are a type of acne and whether or not they disappear on their own is determined by their extent and the individual patient’s situation. Whiteheads are actually sebum plugs that accumulate under the epidermis. If the number of whiteheads is small, it is possible for them to improve or recover by adjusting the daily routine and improving dietary habits such as spicy and oily food, as well as by improving the physical condition and immune function. However, according to clinical observation, it is uncommon for them to subside on their own, and patients should actively treat them. For example, oral medications such as retinoic acid and tanshinone capsules can regulate keratin metabolism and improve blood flow around whiteheads, which, together with the skin’s own metabolism, can promote the absorption of lipid plugs and make whiteheads disappear. During drug treatment, it is important to regulate the use of drugs under the guidance of a doctor to avoid overuse of drugs, which may cause skin irritation, redness, stinging and other adverse reactions.
