Is pulmonary aspergillosis a serious disease?

Aspergillosis, a lung fungal disease, is not a big disease compared to cancer, but its condition should not be underestimated.

Pulmonary aspergillosis can be caused by a variety of Aspergillus infections, usually Aspergillus fumigatus. It is widespread in nature and the type of infection is related to the strength of the body’s immune system. There are five types of pulmonary aspergillosis, namely invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, chronic necrotizing pulmonary aspergillosis, invasive tracheobronchial aspergillosis, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, and aspergillosis.

Among them, invasive pulmonary aspergillosis has a very high morbidity and mortality rate and is difficult to treat. Clinical symptoms include dry cough, chest pain, and hemoptysis in some patients. If the disease is not controlled in time, patients may have respiratory difficulties or even respiratory failure when the lesions are extensive, which may seriously threaten the patients’ life and health.

If the diagnosis of pulmonary aspergillosis is confirmed, it is recommended to actively cooperate with the doctor to carry out standardized treatment to avoid the delay of the disease.
