A pins and needles pain in the lower abdomen is not necessarily a sign of pregnancy, as normal pregnancy does not cause pain in the lower abdomen when you are first pregnant. In case of pain in the belly, if there is a history of menopause, it is recommended to clinically exclude the possibility of ectopic pregnancy. It is also recommended to rule out the possibility of pelvic inflammatory disease or pelvic tumor, both of which may cause pain in the belly. Pregnancy is a normal physiological phenomenon and most normal intrauterine pregnancies do not result in lower abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding. If there is a pre-eclampsia, it often leads to pain in the lower abdomen, but this pain is often paroxysmal and it is recommended to differentiate it clinically and to do ultrasound examination for a clear diagnosis if necessary.
