Pilot orthopaedic disease spectrum

Objective To investigate the distribution pattern of orthopedic disease spectrum of J-5, J-6, J-7, J-8 and high performance fighter pilots. Methods All 303 pilots of J-5, J-6, J-7, J-8 and high performance fighters were subjected to routine cervical, thoracic, lumbar frontal and lumbar double oblique computerized radiographic examinations, lumbar CT or MRI scans, and then classified. The 303 pilots were divided into 3 groups according to aircraft type, and their orthopedic disease spectrum was analyzed and statistically tested. The top 10 orthopedic conditions were disc herniation, lumbar isthmus fracture, sacral spine invisible fracture, meniscal injury, tendon injury or rupture, arthritis, lumbar muscle strain, fracture, Xu Mo nodule and lumbar wedge deformity. Conclusion The orthopedic pathologies of Jagdpanzer pilots are mainly spinal and motor system pathologies, and the analysis of their causes can help improve the quality of aviation security.
