Is it normal for a child to have 4.7 and 4.8 vision?

Whether a child’s visual acuity of 4.7 and 4.8 is normal or not is related to the child’s age. If the child is older than 4 years old, it is usually abnormal, and if the child is 4 years old or younger, the vision is in the normal range.
4.7 and 4.8 are the visual acuities recorded by the five-point visual acuity recording method, as opposed to the fractional visual acuity recording method of 0.5 and 0.6. Normal naked-eye visual acuities for a 4-year-old child range from 4.7 to 4.8, or 0.5 to 0.6. Therefore, if the child is younger than 4 years of age, his or her visual acuities are normal.
Whereas the normal naked eye visual acuity for a 6 year old child is 4.9 to 5.0. or 0.8 to 1.0, the normal naked eye visual acuity for a 5 year old child is 4.8 to 4.9 or 0.6 to 0.8. Therefore, if the child is older than 4 years of age, the visual acuity is abnormal. Children’s eyeballs in the development stage, the eye axis is relatively short, mostly farsightedness, with the growth of age, the eye axis gradually developed and mature, vision can be gradually improved.
It is recommended that children with abnormal vision be seen promptly for evaluation of their condition and treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
