It is possible for novel coronavirus pneumonia to cause hoarseness.
Infection with the novel coronavirus causes congestion and edema in the pharynx, which in turn affects the vocal cords and may lead to hoarseness. It may also cause fever, dizziness, and sore throat, as well as cough, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
These clinical symptoms are not specific and should not be used to determine whether a patient is infected with the novel coronavirus. If there is a history of epidemiologic exposure, it is necessary to go to a hospital for examination if these clinical symptoms occur.
In addition, if infection with novel coronavirus is confirmed, the patient should be isolated and treated promptly.
