Can an enema empty your feces?

Enemas do not completely empty the feces.
Enemas are mainly used to treat constipation. The enema can soften the feces and relieve constipation by pouring soap and water through the anus and into the intestines. It can only clean a section of the intestines that is close to the anus, and cannot completely empty all the feces, so enemas cannot achieve the purpose of emptying feces.
To completely empty the feces, after the enema need to take oral intestinal cleansing drugs such as polyethylene glycol electrolyte bulk, compound sodium phosphate tablets to help defecation, when the discharge of water like feces, it is said to have been clean.
Frequent enemas are not recommended, as they may lead to electrolyte disorders and affect health. All the above operations and medications should be used under doctor’s guidance, avoid self-medication.
