Home control of febrile convulsions

  Febrile convulsions are one of the common emergencies in infancy and early childhood. What people usually call febrile onset and convulsions often occur in the early stages of a sudden rise in body temperature, skin temperature because of peripheral vascular spasm performance cold, easy to be ignored by parents, convulsions lasting more than 15 minutes have an impact on the brain cells of infants and young children, so they need to be guarded against.  Specific measures are as follows: 1, timely treatment of febrile diseases.  2, body temperature over 38.5 ℃ need to be early heat treatment: physical cooling and drug antipyretic, avoid alcohol rubbing bath. Be careful not to over-apply antipyretic drugs, because it is believed that the key to the onset of febrile convulsions is related to genetics, not a direct cause of high body temperature.  3, the prevention of convulsive seizures with drugs, can reduce the number of convulsive seizures or no seizures, but the long-term prognosis is not very useful. Commonly used drugs such as: long-term prevention of sodium valproate, levetiracetam, phenobarbital, intermittent temporary medication diazepam.  4, keep the head tilted to the side during the seizure to prevent secretion inhalation leading to asphyxia, it is strictly prohibited to stuff anything into the mouth and prohibit finger pinching to avoid skin breakage. Generally febrile seizures last 3 to 5 minutes, if more than 3 minutes can not naturally relieve, call 120 for help.
