Home care of pediatric convulsions

Convulsions, commonly known as “convulsions”, are characterized by loss of consciousness, mostly accompanied by upturned eyes, squinting, foaming at the mouth, tonicity of facial muscles and limbs, blue and gray face to purple pincers of the lips. The seizure can last from a few seconds to a few minutes, and can be life-threatening if not stopped in time. When you encounter pediatric convulsions in the family, do not be overly nervous, as this will only delay the condition. Calm down and do the following: ① Immediately insert a handkerchief wrapped in the handle of an aluminum spoon between the lower and upper incisors to avoid tongue bite. ②Lie down with your head to one side so that oral secretions can flow out easily. ③Fasten water. After the convulsions have stopped and the consciousness has awakened, give liquid or semi-liquid as appropriate according to the condition. ④Keep the room environment quiet, do not call loudly, and reduce unnecessary stimulation. ⑤ Needle prick (acupuncture point) Renzhong, Hegu and other points if necessary. to stimulate their wakefulness. ⑥Record in detail the start time and duration of the convulsion, the site of the convulsion, and whether the urine and stool are incontinent, and give a detailed account to the doctor when seeking medical attention. This will help the doctor to make reference to the diagnosis. Of course, it is also necessary to choose the nearest hospital for timely medical treatment.
