Pulse knot generation is a compound pulse sign in TCM, i.e., a juxtaposition of knotted pulse and generation pulse, which is manifested as symptoms of intermittent and terminated pulse beats and irregular pulse rhythm. The knotted pulse is a Yin pulse in TCM, which is a manifestation of the lack of Yang in the heart and the depletion of Yin and Blood. When the Yin Blood in the body is insufficient, the heart loses its moistening and may become abnormal, manifesting as palpitations, easy fright, irregular pulse rhythm, shortness of breath, lethargy, and night sweats. Patients with this pulse usually have a deficiency of both heart yang and heart yin, which can be treated with Chinese medicines such as roasted licorice granules, salvia pills, ginseng capsules, heart stabilizing granules, and yixinshu tablets. Patients can also be treated with Chinese herbal formulas consisting of Dan Shen, Ge Gen, Ginseng, Mai Dong, Wu Wei Zi, Sheng Di Huang and Dang Shen under the guidance of a doctor. Because pulse nodules may cause more symptoms and individual differences in patients, it is recommended to actively treat the condition after diagnosis to avoid delay. In daily life, patients should pay attention to emotional stability, avoid strong emotional fluctuations, ensure regular work and rest, avoid staying up late, try to eat lightly and exercise in moderation, etc., to help relieve the symptoms.
