How to detect thyroid disease

The thyroid gland, a butterfly-shaped gland located in the neck, is the body’s main gland that regulates metabolism and can affect almost every aspect of human health if it functions abnormally. The following aspects need to be alerted to the presence of thyroid disease and can be used as a self-screening for thyroid disease. 1. Neck discomfort or enlargement: you may feel swollen in the neck and feel uncomfortable wearing a turtleneck sweater or tying a tie. 2. Weight change: Unexplained weight change may also be a sign of hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. 3.Muscle and joint pain: weakness of the upper limbs and a tendency to develop carpal tunnel syndrome. 4. Hair and skin changes: Hair becomes dry and rough, breaks and falls off easily, skin becomes thick, rough and dry, and scaly skin appears. 5, intestinal problems: severe or chronic constipation and diarrhea, or irritable bowel syndrome. 6.Anxiety and depression: agitation or anxiety and apathy are also symptoms of thyroid disease. 7, fatigue: waking up from sleep and still feeling fatigued, feeling physically weak, or not being able to move around all day without napping, these are also signs of having thyroid disease. 8, irregular menstruation and fertility problems: abnormal menstrual flow, cycle, menstrual period, accompanied by dysmenorrhea, and even infertility 9, family history: people with a family history of thyroid disease have an increased risk of developing thyroid disease. If more than one of the above symptoms occurs at the same time, don’t panic, you can go to the regular hospital for thyroid function and ultrasound and other related tests to determine whether you are suffering from thyroid disease.
