Jet spitting up in infants may be related to physiological factors, pyloric hypertrophic stenosis, acute gastroenteritis and other factors.
1. Physiological factors: Due to the small capacity of the stomach and immature development of the cardia sphincter in infants, air will be swallowed into the stomach during the process of eating milk, and peristaltic movement of the stomach as well as the discharge of gas may lead to the emergence of projectile spitting up.
2. Pyloric hypertrophic stenosis: after the obstruction of the pylorus of the baby’s stomach, the pressure in the stomach is very high, and the passage of food in the stomach is blocked, so jet spitting occurs.
3. Acute gastroenteritis: Jet spitting may occur when the mother eats greasy, indigestible food that is not easily digested by the baby or when the baby’s abdomen is chilled and causes acute gastroenteritis.
The baby jet spit up, there may be other reasons, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination, to clarify the cause of the disease, and actively symptomatic treatment.
