The probability of recurrence of lung nodules after resection is related to the nature of the nodule.
If the nodule belongs to early benign, it will not recur if there is no lymph node metastasis or distant metastasis after resection; if it belongs to malignant nodule, 80% of the patients may have recurrence or metastasis within 3 years after resection.
If the diameter of lung nodule is relatively small, there is no need to do further examination, but if there are uncomfortable symptoms, it is necessary to do further examination. Some lung nodules will not recur if they are benign after surgical treatment.
However, if lung cancer recurs after surgical resection in early stage, it should be highly valued, and it is necessary to exclude whether there is a tumor or whether the tumor has metastasized. If the lung nodule is malignant, it should be surgically removed as early as possible, and if there is no recurrence after 5 years of removal, the probability of recurrence of malignant nodule and metastasis at the same time in the future is very low.
