Taibai point belongs to the foot Taiyin spleen meridian, located in the foot 1 metatarsophalangeal joints proximal, red and white meat intersection (the junction of the palm and the back of the hand, the heart of the foot and the dorsum of the foot) at the location. There are branches of the saphenous and superficial peroneal nerves, a network of dorsal foot veins, and branches of the medial plantar artery and medial tarsal artery.
Acupuncture and moxibustion at Taibai point can treat stomach pain, abdominal distension, vomiting, eructation (hiccups), bowel sounds, diarrhea, constipation and other conditions. If needling Taibai point, the depth of straight stabbing is about 0.5 to 0.8 inches; if moxibustion Taibai point, moxibustion with moxa sticks can be used for 5 to 10 minutes.
