How long does it take for a milk allergy to resolve itself depends on the severity of the allergy and the body’s resistance. It may resolve itself within 1 year of age, but it may remain allergic for life.
Cow’s milk allergy occurs in infants under 2 months of age, and with the gradual increase of the infant’s resistance, the mild cases may be cured by the age of 1 year; with the gradual development of mature gastrointestinal function, most of the children’s cow’s milk allergy may be relieved by the age of 3 to 5 years; however, there are some cases of cow’s milk allergy that are not cured by themselves, and may even persist.
It is not recommended to eat food containing milk ingredients if they are allergic to milk. If the allergic symptoms are caused by accidental ingestion, they should stop eating immediately, and if the symptoms are severe, they should follow the doctor’s instructions to take anti-allergy drugs, such as ipratropium, cetirizine, and so on.
