Magnesium sulfate needs to be taken orally. For diarrhea, adults 5-20 grams at a time; children 1-5 grams at a time. Magnesium sulfate is used for acute constipation, intestinal cleansing in cases of food or drug poisoning. It is also used in combination with anthelmintics for lower abdominal distension caused by abnormal fermentation in the intestines.
If the concentration of the solution is too large when taking diarrhea, it can draw a lot of water from the tissues and lead to dehydration, so it is advisable to take it on an empty stomach in the early morning and drink a lot of water to accelerate the effect of diarrhea and relieve dehydration.
In the case of abdominal distension caused by decreased radioactivity of defecation, this product should be prohibited for diarrhea, so as not to increase the intestinal contents suddenly and fail to cause defecation, and exacerbate the discomfort of abdominal distension. If diarrhea is required for poisoning caused by central inhibiting drugs, this product should be avoided and sodium sulfate can be used instead. Intestinal bleeding, pregnant women, patients with acute abdomen, menstruating women are prohibited to use this product to induce diarrhea.
