Hai Fu Shi is contraindicated for people with deficiency cold cough, but its side effects are not clear. Hai Fu Shi is salty in taste and cold in nature; it belongs to the lung meridian. It has the effects of clearing lung and resolving phlegm, softening and dispersing hard lumps. It is used in treating lung-heat cough and asthma, thick and yellowish phlegm, bronchitis, lymph node tuberculosis, hemoptysis, and so on. Hai Fu Shi with Qing Chang plays the function of clearing liver and lung, stopping bleeding and resolving phlegm. Used for liver fire burns the lungs, coughing with blood in the sputum; Hai Fu Shi with Gua Puzu Pi can enhance the function of clearing lung heat and resolving hot phlegm. For phlegm heat congestion of the lungs, cough phlegm yellow thick; Hai Fu Shi with seaweed can make the phlegm, soften and disperse the power of enhancement. It is suitable for gall tumors (equivalent to thyroid tumors), scrofula (mainly refers to cervical lymph node tuberculosis) and so on. It is recommended to use the medicine under the guidance of a doctor.
