Fetal movement usually starts in the first week

Fetal movement can usually be observed by ultrasound in the 7th week and gradually strengthens as the pregnancy progresses, and around 16-20 weeks, pregnant women can be self-conscious of fetal movement. Fetal movement generally refers to fetal somatic activity. Generally at 7-8 weeks of gestation, a slight state of rippling movement of the embryonic bud can be detected by ultrasound, so fetal movement can be detected as early as around 7 weeks. Fetal movement will generally increase gradually with the progress of pregnancy, at about 9 weeks the fetus can show small twitching, after 9 weeks the fetal movement starts to become more obvious, after 10 weeks the fetal movement manifests itself in stronger movements such as fluttering, floating and jumping. By about 16-20 weeks, pregnant women can consciously feel their fetus moving. With the continued development of the fetus in 32-34 weeks fetal movement can reach its peak, to 38 weeks of gestation after fetal movement will gradually decrease. In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, pregnant women should pay attention to the situation of fetal movement, an abnormal increase or decrease in fetal movement usually suggests that the fetus may have intrauterine hypoxia, and should be promptly consulted.
