Is Langerhans a rare disease?

Langerhans has a very low incidence and is a rare disease. Langerhans, also known as histiocytosis, is a relatively rare osteolytic tumor-like lesion that can occur at all ages, mostly in children. Bone invasion caused by Langerhans is most common in the skull and femur, and less common in the spine, with a prevalence of about 6.5%. And in children the lesions in the spine are mostly in the thoracic spine, while in adults the lesions in the spine are preferably in the cervical spine. Langerhans is a proliferative disease caused by clonal proliferation of cells originating from the dendritic cell family. Clinical symptoms are mainly localized pain, induration, and soft tissue mass or swelling, and systemic symptoms are rare and inconspicuous.
